Hello and welcome to the “official” Week 1 Confidence Pool Picks! It’s been a long offseason and I’m so looking forward to some NFL football!
This year, the “money picks” will be emailed to Premium Members directly. However, for the first week or two, I’ll post them on the site here too just so people can take a look. I’ll also post the previous week’s picks as well. If you need a refresher on how to use these picks, check out the sneak preview Week 1 post which will give you a rundown and link you to the strategy pages.
For week 1, there are two schools of thought: Go for it, because it’s hard to predict anyway so might as well try to score one right out of the gate. The other thought is to stick with base picks and see if you can pick up a few but still try to win the year. Up to you!
Here are the base picks for this week:

Here are the “Money Picks,” or picks that you can take a shot at to get into the money. These teams are neglected by the public but have a decent chance of winning. So, you pick one or two of these teams and give it a high confidence point.
These picks will be emailed to Premium members during the season. But for now, here’s a free preview of the picks. If you’re interested in becoming a Premium member,  click here.

Green Picks: Jacksonville and SF. Out: Chicago
Update: Chicago is still in play, they’ve just dropped a bit in win probability.
It seems like Jacksonville is a money pick every week. Usually Buffalo is too, but I guess they’re playing the Jets so everyone knows they’re going to win.
Yellow picks: Seattle, Baltimore. In: LAC Out: Tennessee,
Update: People are picking up on Tennessee, they’re now up to 30% picked. Downgrading them to a blue pick. The Chargers are now a yellow pick coming in at 13% picked with a 39% win probability.
Tennessee is an awesome pick this week. They’re actually favored but only 26% of the population has picked them. They are a good team to separate yourself a bit from the pack, either by going higher with them or using them as your all-in money pick.
Blue picks: Minnesota, Rams In: Tennessee, Philadelphia
Update: The Titans have been downgraded to a blue pick by virtue of the public started to get on their bandwagon. Maybe this site is making a difference?
These are lower risk picks that you can “bump up” a few points. The Rams are favored but only 43% picked them (maybe people don’t know Andrew Luck is hurt?)
My pick: I will take advantage of Tennessee’s great numbers for the week and go all in on them and the LA Chargers. I’ll leave the rest as base picks. Good luck!
Update: I will rethink my Tennessee strategy and maybe go with one of the greens with a Tennessee bump up.
