2018 Season In Review
Week 17 Base Pick Points: 107 Season Base Pick Points: 1495 ddting2018-12-31T17:59:14+00:00
Happy new year CPP nation! Another year has gone by, thank you for being a part of this community. I hope you guys all had a lot of fun, and above all, won a lot of money! It was a good year for base picks, ending the year at 1495 points. I personally took first place overall, a weekly second place twice, and a weekly third-place twice in my 40 team league. I spent most of the year sticking with base picks because of that.
You may have noticed that the writeups were a lot more thorough after week 10, that is thanks to Alex Schweitzer, who took over running the numbers and writing up the posts at week 10. It was really nice having Alex because I actually broke my right hand pitching in softball when I took a line drive back to the mound, and it takes forever to type anything including this.
One neat thing I found out this year is many of us are in these pools because of our dads, me included. It’s such a neat bonding experience and I’m happy that this site hopefully helped make things more fun for all of us.
As usual, I love your feedback as to what we should keep doing and what we can do differently for next year. Please choose the options in the following poll and or leave a comment in the comments section below. Every year we improve a little bit, every year we discover new things that need improving, and we’ll do the same for next year.
Couple of things left to do:
1. Renew for 2019
. I would like to offer you to renew for next year at the current $25 price. I haven’t decided the prices for next year yet, but if you subscribe now you will pay no more than $25, and if it’s lower I’ll refund you the difference.
2. Gloat and share the wealth
. If you would like to gloat about your winnings, please submit your team and leave a tip. I will donate half of the tip jar to a charity to be determined. You will be listed as a sponsor on our page of winners. If you just want to leave a tip but didn’t win that’s fine too.
Did you win and want to share the love? Throw a tip in the jar and we'll list you on a Winners Page! Half of the tip jar will be donated to a charity to be determined.
I’m also hoping to do a lot of analysis on the season and work on other potential reports such as against the spread confidence pools and college pools. Also hoping to improve our database so we don’t have as many issues with the tables like we did this year.
3. Join email List
. If you’re not on her email list yet, please sign up here. You will be the first to know when next year starts and the results of any off-season analysis we do.
Thanks again for a great year! Good luck in the playoffs for those were in it, I won’t be doing those this year and will be focusing on other stuff. I may do it in the future. If you’re in the playoffs, you can use the same methodology by looking up Vegas odds and percent picked, which is explained in a series of posts starting with this one
